Transplant Type - Liver

We are sad to report that Randy lost his health battle in November 2010. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

In 2007, Randy became very ill and spent hours vomiting blood. His longtime girlfriend, Kathy, finally convinced him to go to the emergency room, where doctors told him he was suffering from a bleeding ulcer and a life-threatening liver disease. Sadly, both Randy's father and grandfather passed away from the same illness. Doctors told Randy a liver transplant was essential to his survival.

Despite his health issues, Randy was thankful that his family became much closer throughout his frightening health battles. He was the type of man who went out of his way to help others in need. His sister Lisa, his mother and Kathy were incredibly supportive, and they even took time off work to make sure Randy never missed a doctor's appointment or lab visit.

Randy looked forward to one day feeling well enough to resume his favorite activities of going to Nascar races, softball and hockey games, and relaxing on the lake. He also wanted to have the energy to spend more time with his friends and family.

Because of his declining health, he was unable to work, adding to his financial strain.

Randy's family needs your help. They face significant expenses related to his transplant evaluations, doctors' visits and medications.

You can help.
