Transplant Type - Heart

We are so sorry to report that Michael passed away in December 2011. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

In 2002, Michael was diagnosed with idiopathic cardiomyopathy, the weakening of his heart muscle. The disease caused congestive heart failure, and doctors said a heart transplant was critical to his survival.

Michael received his lifesaving transplant was doing well. Despite his struggles, Michael always remained optimistic about the future. He looked forward to returning to a normal life was able to spend a little more time with his fiancee and three children. But now his family needs your help.

A heart transplant costs approximately $750,000. And that's only the beginning. Even with medical coverage, they face significant expenses related to Michael's transplant, medications and follow-up care.

Michael's declining health prevented him from working, adding to the financial strain. He also incurred substantial travel expenses, as the transplant center was 100 miles from his home.
