Transplant Type - Liver
Jimmy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in November 2008. Thankfully, five months later, he went into remission. At that time, he learned the chemotherapy had destroyed his liver, and he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. Doctors told Jimmy a liver transplant was his only hope for a second chance at life.
Thankfully, Jimmy received his lifesaving liver transplant in September 2009 at Florida Hospital. He is recovering well and is optimistic about the future.
Jimmy is grateful for the support offered by his family and friends during his illness. He looks forward to returning to work, cycling, playing golf and spending time with his family. But he needs your help.
A liver transplant costs approximately $500,000. And that's only the beginning. Even with medical coverage, Jimmy will face significant expenses. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post-transplant medications can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month--and they are as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
You can help.
Your gift to the NFT Florida Liver Fund will enable us to assist Jimmy with his transplant expenses. To make a secure online donation, please click on the link beneath Jimmy's photo. If you prefer to mail your gift, please send it to NFT Florida Liver Fund, 5350 Poplar Ave., Suite 430, Memphis, TN 38119. Please be sure to write "in honor of Jimmy Bartoli" in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
