Transplant Type - Kidney

For most of her life, Debbie was the picture of health, but she recently began experiencing fatigue and swelling in her legs. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, a rare and incurable kidney disease. As a result, she now faces end-stage renal failure. Doctors say a kidney transplant is her only hope for a second chance at life.

Despite her struggles, Debbie has high hopes for the future. She enjoys her work as a cosmetologist, and hopes to continue working. She views each day as a blessing and plans to continue to fight her illness. Debbie, a devoted mother, looks forward to the lifesaving kidney transplant that will give her more time with her three children.

A kidney transplant costs approximately $250,000. And that's only the beginning. Debbie is uninsured, and faces significant medical expenses. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post-transplant medications can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month--and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. However, before Debbie can be listed for a transplant, she must raise a deposit of $85,000. She desperately needs your help.
