Transplant Type - Bone Marrow
In 2003, Chanel was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) Doctors told her a bone marrow transplant was her only hope for survival. Thankfully, she receivined an allogeneic bone marrow transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona in December 2009. An allogeneic bone marrow transplant means she received the marrow from a donor match.
This single mother of Devin looks forward to the lifesaving transplant that will allow her to spend many years watching him grow up. Chanel looks forward to being cancer free and moving past this difficult time in her life. But she needs your help.
An allogeneic bone marrow transplant costs approximately $675,000. And that's only the beginning. Even with health insurance, Chanel faces significant medical expenses. She will need follow-up care and medications to ensure her body accepts the new bone marrow.
Although Chanel is a debt collector, she recently had to quit working to prepare for her transplant. She will be unable to work as she is recovering, adding to the financial strain.
You can help.
