Transplant Type - Lung

We are thrilled to report that Cathy received her lifesaving lung transplant in October 2009!

In 2003, just days before Cathy was to graduate with an associate's degree, she was diagnosed with a rare and deadly disease, Pulmonary Hypertension.

Before her transplant, Cathy received intravenous medication 24-hours a day and many other medications. Doctors told her a lung transplant was her only hope for survival.

A lung transplant costs approximately $650,000, and that's just the beginning. Cathy's insurance does not cover the tremendous burden of costs for post-transplant expenses and medications, and they can cost as much as $5,000 per month.
