Transplant Type - Liver

After being sick off and on for about a year, Beverly was admitted to the hospital for testing in 2008. She soon learned she was suffering from a life-threatening liver disease. Doctors have told Beverly a liver transplant is critical to her survival. She has been on the transplant waiting list at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston since 2009.

This caring wife, mother and grandmother always tries to help others in their time of need, but she now needs others to help take care of her. Beverly looks forward to her lifesaving transplant so she can enjoy the hobbies she once loved, such as cooking and attending rodeos. She enjoys visiting relatives in Tennessee, where she loves the peacefulness of the hills and valleys. Beverly wants nothing more than to spend many more years with her husband, George, watching their young grandson grow up. But she needs your help.

A liver transplant costs approximately $500,000. And that's only the beginning. Even with health insurance, Beverly faces significant medical expenses. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The medications can cost as much as $5,000 per month--and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

Although she worked as an office manager for more than 20 years, her declining health prevents her from working, adding to her financial strain.
