Transplant Type - Liver

Vincent went for a wellness checkup in 2006 and was diagnosed with a badly damaged liver and end stage liver disease. In late 2007 his condition worsened and after being stabilized, he traveled to Stanford Medical Center in California.

Fortunately, Vincent listed on the transplant waiting list, and a donor was found in just 10 days. He had his lifesaving transplant in January 2008.

A liver transplant costs approximately $500,000. Even with some insurance, there will be signicant expenses for follow-up care and anti-rejection medications for a life time. What a tremendous burden for Vincent and his family!
