Transplant Type - Kidney
Simonia had been ill for over 10 years, and on dialysis for more than 5 years before receiving her new kidney June 19, 2006. She is doing very well in her recovery.
"When I first started dialysis, my husband would take me in my night gown because I didn't have enough strength to dress," she recalls. "I felt I was at the end of my life."
"Since the transplant, l feel so much better!" With her new energy, she is enjoying spending time with her two children and five grandchildren.
However, Simonia faces high costs she cannot afford for anti-rejection medications, essential to keeping her new kidney healthy.
You can help.
Your tax-deductible donation to NFT's Idaho Kidney/Pancreas Fund will help make it possible for Valencia to afford the anti-rejection medications she needs to keep her new kidney healthy.
