August Patient of the Month: JK lee
In 2010, while on a songwriting trip in New York, JK Lee developed a sudden aortic tear that nearly cost him his life.
While receiving medical attention for that issue, doctors discovered he was suffering from kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. Since his diagnosis, he’s been enduring dialysis treatments three times a week, which take a toll on his quality of life. A kidney transplant is essential to his survival. Thankfully, his brother Victor is undergoing tests in hopes of being the perfect donor match to save his brother’s life!
Despite his health challenges, JK stays positive by relying on his strong faith, as well as the support of his wife, Elaine, and their family and friends. JK has always been very active, and has a long list of talents, including singer, songwriter, worship leader, graphic designer, copy writer and baker, but perhaps his most important roles are those of husband, son, brother and friend.
