Hudson, Wisc., May 23, 2012 – Vanessa Michael doesn’t take one moment for granted. She recently received a lifesaving kidney transplant, thanks to a generous living donor. Her expenses are overwhelming, so volunteers are planning a luau fundraiser to help.

Middleton, Mass., May 8, 2012 – Ryan Naismith knows exactly how it feels to have a broken heart. He needs a heart transplant and is waiting for the phone call that will change his life. The costs are overwhelming, so volunteers are planning a tennis fundraiser to help.

Memphis, Tenn., May 8, 2012 – Reginald Mayes is waiting for the phone call that will change his life. He needs a kidney transplant, but the costs are overwhelming. Volunteers are planning a car show to raise funds for his expenses.

Mayes, 27, was born with no kidney function and received his first transplant before his second birthday. He received another transplant 20 years later, and now doctors say a third kidney transplant is critical to his survival. He’s been on the waiting list since August 2011.
