Loretta Whitmore

Loretta engages community partners and helps to increase NFT’s funding base for the purpose of creating a sustainable future. She helps to design strategies for simple and complex corporate engagement or relationships.

Her work strengthens existing support from partners and grows NFT’s base to include a diverse set of organizations that are sources of strong funding and champions of the NFT movement in the community. She serves as the lead staff for participation in national campaigns such as the federal government’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and the Community Health Charities federations.

Prior to joining NFT, Loretta served as the Senior Manager of Resource Development for United Way. During her 16 years with United Way, she led the implementation of online workplace giving resulting in over $1 million dollars in annual revenues and the creation of an employee training and development program. Her work in community impact led to the partnership of a successful welfare-to-work training program. She was instrumental in strengthening the nonprofit community’s role in emergency/disaster planning, response and recovery. She managed donations and volunteers in Shelby County’s Emergency Operations Center; implemented a new information system for citizens; and revamped the nonprofit community’s involvement in the recovery process. On behalf of the West Tennessee Seismic Safety Commission, she planned and executed the 200th Year Commemoration of the New Madrid Earthquakes. Through her work in disaster preparedness, she was instrumental in bringing attention to the media’s role in disaster response and recovery.
